Senior Laravel & Vue.js Developer - Remote

About you
You're a Senior Software Developer working with both Laravel & Vue.js. You have experience working on high-volume traffic sites with millions of users who you continue to delight through innovation. You'll be passionate about deploying high-quality code and products to your users globally. 

You have a track record of building high-traffic, high-impact applications. You think in systems, enjoy exploring edge cases, and take full ownership of the features you deliver. You're happiest when working on challenging projects for millions of users that require elegant solutions. 

About the role
Working closely with our Product team, you'll develop our site to support the international growth of our market-leading products whilst continuing our commitment to delighting our users.

You'll be responsible for creating innovative, high-impact software solutions that challenge the market and redefine industry standards. Leading by example, you'll craft exceptional code and drive a culture of technical excellence while aligning technical solutions with long-term business strategies and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-impact software solutions.

You'll need a deep understanding of both front-end and back-end development to create truly exceptional applications. With your pixel-perfect approach and expertise in building high-scale websites and marketplaces, you'll be able to build applications, products and services that push the limits of what's possible here at Car & Classic, Europe’s largest classic vehicle marketplace.

About us Car & Classic is one of the largest automotive marketplaces in the world. Launched in 2005 but under new, VC-backed ownership since 2018 and on an exciting double-digit growth journey to bring classic vehicle transactions online.

We’re looking for a Senior Laravel & Vue.js Developer who has good, relevant experience and wants to make their mark in a rapid-growth business where they can make a real difference whilst enjoying the environment and culture.

The skills, attributes and experience you must have:

• 👊 Experience building REST API-driven web applications for high-volume sites
  
• 🤘 Great Laravel, Vue.js and Inertia skills
  
• 💻 JavaScript/Node/TypeScript are loves of your life
  
• 🚦 Experience with high-volume websites with peak loads
  
• ⚡ Speed-junky and obsessed with getting 100% Lighthouse scores
  
• 💽 Handles Eloquent/ORM with MySQL/PostgreSQL efficiently and knows how to debug slow queries
  
• 🏁 Automated tests using Playwright, Pest, Jest or similar are a natural part of your daily work
  
• 📦 Building re-usable Components with Storybook using Vue gives you joy
  
• 🎨 Building a component-based front-end using Vue.js and Tailwind CSS
  
• 📈 Experienced in building amazing organisational tools using Laravel Nova or similar (Backpack, Yoyager, Admire, InfyOm, Jetstream etc.)

  This role probably isn't for you if:

• 🧩 You prefer highly structured environments with clear rules and slow release cycles.

• 🧍 You don’t enjoy taking ownership of features end-to-end.

• 🚫 You’re uncomfortable working autonomously in a remote team.

• ⚡ You don’t enjoy working at speed or iterating quickly.

• 🐌 You’re not comfortable being held to high standards of code quality and performance.

• 🔧 You’re uninterested in debugging, optimisation or improving how things work under the hood.

2. After this you'll meet with our CTPO who will conduct a more in-depth interview regarding your experience and technical expertise.
