SEN Teaching Assistant - Havering
We are proud to invite applications for a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and supportive school community in Havering. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs, supporting them to access learning, develop confidence, and feel safe and valued within the school environment.
You will support pupils through one-to-one and small group work, adapting learning activities and using strategies that meet individual needs. Supporting emotional wellbeing, social development, and positive behaviour will be a key part of your role, alongside helping pupils develop independence and resilience.
You will work in partnership with class teachers, the SENCo, and other professionals to ensure consistent and effective support. Observations, feedback, and record keeping will help inform planning and track progress, ensuring pupils receive the best possible support.
Strong relationships with pupils and families are highly valued, and you will be supported to communicate openly and positively. The school offers a collaborative culture where staff feel valued and encouraged to develop their skills and expertise.
You will:
Support pupils with SEN in class and intervention settings
Help create a calm, nurturing, and inclusive environment
Assist with personalised learning and behaviour strategies
Monitor progress and contribute to pupil reviews
Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
