Reception Teacher | Lewisham
We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring Reception Teacher to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Lewisham. This is a wonderful opportunity for an Early Years practitioner to support children at a crucial stage as they begin their formal education and develop a love of learning.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across the Reception curriculum, using a balance of play-based learning and structured activities. You will create a nurturing, stimulating classroom environment where children feel safe, confident, and motivated to explore and learn.
Assessment and observation will be central to your role. You will track progress, identify next steps, and tailor learning experiences to meet individual needs. Supporting children’s communication, early literacy, numeracy, and personal development will be key priorities.
You will work closely with teaching assistants and the wider Early Years team to ensure consistency and high standards. Strong communication with parents and carers is highly valued, and you will be encouraged to build positive relationships with families.
This role is suitable for ECTs and experienced teachers who are passionate about Early Years education. The school offers supportive leadership, collaborative working, and access to high-quality professional development.
