An inclusive and forward-thinking primary school in the City of Westminster is seeking a caring and enthusiastic EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs within its Early Years provision.
About the School
This school is proud of its inclusive ethos and strong commitment to early intervention. Serving a diverse inner-London community, the school places a high value on nurturing children’s emotional wellbeing alongside academic development. The Early Years setting is well-resourced, calm, and carefully structured to meet the needs of all learners.
Staff benefit from strong leadership, collaborative working practices, and access to high-quality training. SEN support is embedded throughout the EYFS provision, with close partnership working between teachers, the SENCo, and external agencies.

Your role will involve supporting children to:
Develop communication and language skills
Build social interaction and play skills
Regulate emotions and behaviour
Develop independence and self-care
Support will be delivered through a combination of 1:1 work, small-group interventions, and in-class support.
Key Responsibilities
Provide consistent, tailored SEN support
Implement strategies set by the class teacher and SENCo
Support learning through play-based and adult-led activities
Use visual timetables, now-and-next boards, and sensory resources
Encourage positive behaviour and inclusion
Assist with personal care and hygiene when required
Monitor and record progress
Uphold safeguarding and health & safety procedures
Person Specification
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working with children with SEN, ideally in EYFS
Is calm, patient, and nurturing
Has strong communication and teamwork skills
Is committed to inclusion and safeguarding
Is eager to learn and develop professionally
Experience supporting children with autism or speech and language needs is highly desirable.
What the School Can Offer
A welcoming and inclusive staff team
Excellent CPD and SEN training opportunities
Supportive leadership and clear guidance
A positive, well-resourced EYFS environment
Valuable experience for a long-term career in education or SEN
This is an excellent opportunity to support young children at a crucial stage in their learning journey.
