Our welcoming team in Merton is now looking for a safety-focused and dependable individual to join us as a Van Driver.

Main Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver building materials and timber products to a wide variety of customers, including both trade professionals and retail clients in the Merton area
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance, reporting any issues promptly to ensure compliance and safety at all times
- Work closely with branch and yard teams to ensure orders are accurately loaded for delivery
- Represent Lawsons by providing excellent customer service on every delivery, answering questions and ensuring a positive customer experience
- Accurately maintain delivery paperwork and records in line with company procedures
- Follow all Health & Safety guidelines to protect yourself, colleagues, and customers
- Support the branch with other duties when required, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team
Key Skills & Experience
- Full UK driving licence
- Previous experience as a van driver or multi-drop delivery driver is highly desirable, ideally within a builders’ merchant or similar environment
- Good understanding of road safety, vehicle upkeep, and safe manual handling procedures
- Strong commitment to customer service, with effective communication skills and a helpful, respectful manner
- Organised, reliable, and punctual with the ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team
- Flexible attitude and willingness to take on a variety of tasks as operational needs require
Working Hours – Van Driver Careers at Lawsons, Merton
This is a full-time, permanent position. Core hours are Monday to Friday 07:00 –16.30 with alternate Saturday mornings 08:00 –12:00.
