Product Manager
Description
Product Manager
We are looking for a Product Manager to join our Loans Product Group “Apply” domain
The Loans Product Group at Funding Circle is where we serve our small business customers who are looking for funding typically via a business loan. Our group is divided into Product Engineering teams with ownership over discreet parts of our customer journey and tech stack. This product role is for the “Apply” domain, which owns our customer-facing web application journeys, our self-service offer negotiation experience, and parts of our customer portal.
Who are we?
We’re Funding Circle. We back small businesses to succeed.
At Funding Circle, we believe the world needs small businesses. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to help them get the finance they need to grow.
With more than a decade of expertise under our belt, we’ve built a game-changer of a platform with cutting-edge data and technology that’s reshaping the landscape of SME lending. Say goodbye to lengthy applications and hello to lightning-fast decisions! In just minutes, SMEs across the UK can get a decision, giving them access to competitive funding in a flash.
We know that good business is about good people. So we pride ourselves on providing meaningful, human support as well as fast, hassle free processes to deliver an unbeatable customer experience.
The role
Own the Product Vision: Define and articulate a clear product vision and strategy for the customer-facing "Apply" user experience, ensuring it aligns with overall business goals and delivers measurable value to customers.
Translate User Needs into Actionable Backlogs: Act as the voice of the customer, gathering and synthesizing user research, data, and stakeholder feedback to create and prioritize the team's product backlog.
Lead the Scrum Team: Drive the "Apply" Scrum team's work, providing clear direction and setting priorities to ensure they are focused on the most impactful features and improvements. This includes being aware of both non-functional and tech strategy goals.
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the "Apply" Scrum team and internal stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring transparency on product development and progress.
Champion Product Success: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of product features in the Apply domain, using data to inform future iterations and strategic decisions.
Proactively problem solving, identifying and confidently mitigating any risks, issues or control weaknesses that arise in your day-to-day
What we’re looking for
A Customer-Obsessed Mindset: You have a genuine passion for understanding user needs and pain points, and you are relentless in advocating for the best possible customer experience.
A Natural Problem-Solver: You are adept at breaking down complex problems into clear, manageable parts and thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
Strong Communicator and Influencer: You can articulate a product vision to diverse audiences, from engineers to senior stakeholders, and you excel at building consensus without formal authority.
A Collaborative Team Player: You have experience working with and motivating an autonomous Scrum team, fostering a culture of trust, and celebrating shared successes.
Data-Driven Decision-Maker: You are comfortable with data and analytics (including using tools like SQL/Python/gen-AI to be autonomous), using quantitative and qualitative insights to inform your product decisions and validate success.
Nice to have: Product Design background with a keen interest in UX principles, trends and tools
At Funding Circle we are committed to building diverse teams so please apply even if your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the requirements.
