Senior Practitioner - Fostering Team
* Ensure that carers fully understand the fostering task, outcomes to be achieved, and the agency's standards of practice expected in accordance with the legislation, guidance, and agency policies and processes.
* Ensure foster carers undertake the required training and development activity in line with agency policy to ensure they have the requisite knowledge, skills, and ability to undertake the fostering task to expected standards.
* Contribute to foster carer reviews within required timescales, providing written evidence of competence. Presenting review reports to Fostering Panel as required.
* Participate in recruitment and undertake assessment of applicants.
* Attend meetings to support foster carers, children and young people (all professional meetings relevant to any above parties.
* Ensure each child had an accurate and up to date Care Plan on file and that carers have a copy available for reference.
* Work in partnership with the relevant authority to ensure that the child and young person's needs as identified in the Care Plan and placement agreement are met.
* Ensure that comprehensive case recording are completed and maintained within policy timeframes.
* Complete administration and procedures in relation to significant Incidents and Notifiable Events within agency timescales.
* Facilitate social and consultation activities relating to the support of children, young people and foster carers.
* Contribute to and implement the agency development plan for service development, placement growth, and recruitment and retention of carers.
* Work as part of a team and develop and maintain positive working relationships with all colleagues to support the development of the agency. Requirements of this Senior Practitioner role: * A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
* Understanding of relevant legislation.
* Registered or eligible for registration.
