Context

The As-Built Manager is accountable for the development of project red-line and as-built production in preparation for client handover.

The role of the As-Built Manager is to act as the point of contact and assurance for the completion of red-line information packages and as-built information in accordance with documented policies, standards and procedures.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Develop, evolve, communicate and implement the project As-Built information strategy, in alignment with the project information standards and all relevant project stakeholder objectives.
  • Take ownership of the project’s Red-Line and As-Built Procedure and author periodic updates as necessary.
  • Liaise with BBVS sub-contractor Package Managers and design consultant Design Managers and be the point of contact for Red-Line drawing production through to As-Built information production and acceptance.
  • Collaborate with all projects functional areas to ensure that the red-line production methodology is clearly understood by all Work Package Managers and stakeholders and that the quality of redline drawings is clear with exemplar examples.
  • Initiate awareness and training sessions for staff and sub-contractors on the project Red-Line production methodology in conjunction with the projects Digital Team.
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and potentially systems, to meet the client requirements objectives for the Project with regards to As-Built records.
  • Continual technical review of systems and IT platforms to ensure ‘fit for purpose’ through the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure As-Built production, completion and delivery is aligned with Project targets/ milestones.
  • Ensure that Red-line and As-Built production learning and best practices are captured and shared utilising organisational learning systems.
  • Identify and develop sub-contractor Red-Line Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and metrics for Project.
  • Identify and develop sub-contractor As-Built Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and metrics for Project.
  • Manage the As-Built Provider (sub-contractor) to ensure compliance with the requirements and completed to program and budget.
  • Manage trackers and dashboards for progress tracking of Red-Line and As-Built production.
  • To facilitate all As-Built interfaces with Client (including corporate and project specific representatives), Joint Venture (JV) Partners or Co-contractors, Contractors, Sub-contractors, Suppliers and any other third-party organisations/stakeholders participating on the Project.
  • Assess As-Built Provider staff skills and competencies.
  • Carry out periodic surveillance visits and audits to proactively track and trend Red-Line package completion by sub-contractors.
  • Act as point of contact and signatory acceptance of all Red-Line packages on the project.
  • The jobholder must keep abreast of skills and knowledge within his/her professional discipline.
  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected in the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working to the health and safety principles.
  • Co-operate with BBVS in all matters relating to health and safety, including following safe working procedures at all times.
  • Act as a role model for BBVS vision and values, behaving in ways that are in alignment with HS2 values. Encourage and support others to do so too.
  • Promote equality in the workplace and adopt appropriate behaviour when interacting with colleagues.
  • Take necessary care to properly protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of corporate information from unauthorised disclosure, modification or destruction. Never knowingly put project information or information systems at risk.

Profile/Skills

  • 5-10 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably on a rail project.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred; specific and relevant industry certification(s) in discipline or demonstrated current experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Evidential understanding of Project construction processes, deliverables, project handover and outcomes.
  • IS019650 Accreditation (Desirable)
  • Common Data Environments, preferable ProjectWise or eB/ALIM knowledge
  • EDMS systems, preferably Business Collaborator and Bentley eB/ALIM
  • Digital project methodologies
  • iTwin technologies
  • Bentley Systems modelling packages e.g. Microstation, AECOsim, OBD etc.
  • SYNCHRO Control & Field
  • PIM and AIM production methodologies
  • Geographical Information Systems for Asset identification
  • SQL programming
  • Project handover of digital deliverables
  • Asset labelling and identification knowledge
