SEN TA - Waltham Forest - January 2026
Are you a committed SEN TA who wants to make a measurable difference to pupils’ learning and wellbeing? A caring primary school in Waltham Forest is recruiting a SEN TA to join its inclusion team from January 2026.
The SEN TA will provide targeted classroom support, run evidence-informed interventions, assist with social communication programmes and support pupils’ independence. This SEN TA role in Waltham Forest includes comprehensive induction prior to January 2026, and the SEN TA will be expected to take up post from January 2026.
Role responsibilities
- Deliver structured one-to-one and small-group interventions designed to meet individual targets.
- Adapt classroom resources and provide timely scaffolding to increase access to lessons.
- Support social, emotional and sensory needs through agreed strategies and planned routines.
- Keep accurate records of progress, contribute to review meetings and support transition planning.
- Liaise with specialists, therapists and parents to ensure joined-up support in Waltham Forest.
Person specification
- Experience working with pupils with SEND in school or specialist settings as a SEN TA.
- Practical understanding of intervention approaches and behaviour-support techniques.
- Patient, observant and able to build constructive relationships with pupils and families across Waltham Forest.
- Ready to begin January 2026 with attendance at pre-start induction sessions before January 2026.
