Freelance Event Operations Manager
Searcys are looking for a Freelance Event Operations Manager to join the team at the Barber-Surgeons' Hall.
Founded in July 2024, Searcys Events Liveries is a dedicated team bringing excellence and passion to the Livery Halls of the City of London. Our mission is to create outstanding experiences for every guest, built on the values of care, respect, and excellence in service.
The Freelance Event Operations Manager plays a vital role in delivering exceptional guest experiences across our livery venues. This position requires leadership, strong communication, and a passion for excellence in every detail of event delivery.

Job Description
Fixed Term Contract
Salary : £20.00 to £25.00 per hour depending on experience
Start due ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a strong front-of-house presence, leading by example and ensuring smooth event execution from start to finish.
- Communicate effectively with clients, ensuring their expectations are understood, met, and exceeded.
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Chef on each event to guarantee seamless coordination between kitchen and front-of-house operations.
- Support and motivate the wider event operations team—both front and back of house—to deliver the highest standards of service.
- Take personal pride in presentation, professionalism, and performance at all times.
- Ensure every guest receives an outstanding experience, with genuine attention to detail and care.
- Uphold the highest standards of food, health, and safety compliance, completing all required documentation accurately.
- Manage key administrative duties, including:
- Approving shifts on Planday
- Submitting timesheets for agency staff
- Liaising with approved staffing agencies as required
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with venue management and colleagues across all departments.
- Maintain and uphold Searcys’ standards of excellence, ensuring brand consistency and integrity at all times.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience in event management
- Thorough understanding of the event and meeting management process – conception to completion
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, multi-faceted, creative environment and able to work well under pressure
- Meticulous organizational abilities; high attention to detail
- Concise and effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solution-oriented perspective
- Excellent strategic thinking and critical reasoning skills
- Creative, positive energy, self-directed, amiable, and composed under pressure; helpful and humble
