Direct Payments Support Assistant

What You'll Be Doing: As the Direct Payment Support Assistant, you'll be key to the smooth running of our service, managing a variety of essential administrative and financial tasks: Financial & Payments Management: You'll be responsible for processing service users' timesheets and invoices monthly and undertaking the reconciliation of payments against expenditure. You'll also be accountable for uploading direct payments care packages onto systems like Carefirst and Comino.
Service User Support: You will be the first point of contact, offering effective support and advice to service users on Direct Payment-related queries.
Comprehensive Administration: You will provide a comprehensive administrative service for the team, which includes developing and maintaining computerised and manual administrative systems.
Prioritisation & Organisation: You'll need to organise and prioritise your workload to ensure all service deadlines and priorities are met. What We're Looking For: We are seeking a candidate who can hit the ground running and demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development. Essential Skills and Experience: Financial & Administrative Acumen: Experience using and understanding IT and administrative systems is essential, with the ability to undertake a comprehensive range of word-processing, Excel, and database tasks.
Knowledge Base: You must have detailed knowledge of the Direct Payments initiative, including eligibility criteria and payment rules, and knowledge of the Personalisation agenda for Adult Social Care.
Communication & People Skills: An ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with diverse client groups, professionals, and stakeholders is vital.
Workload Management: Proven ability to manage your own workload, prioritise tasks, work under pressure, and meet agreed deadlines. Experience in servicing and minuting meetings is also desirable.
