Year 1 Teacher — Wandsworth
A well-regarded Good primary in Wandsworth is looking to appoint a creative, energetic Year 1 Teacher on a Full-Time basis from January 2026. The successful Year 1 Teacher will be invited to planning sessions before January 2026, will attend induction in January 2026, and will take up class duties from January 2026 as the Year 1 Teacher. This Full-Time Year 1 Teacher post provides strong phase support, high quality TA provision and a committed leadership team focused on sustainable workload and excellent outcomes.

• Year 1 Teacher will receive targeted CPD and mentoring in January 2026.

Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities
The Year 1 Teacher will deliver systematic phonics, guided reading and sequenced writing units. The Year 1 Teacher will use assessment to personalise learning, plan meaningful continuous provision and run small-group interventions. The Year 1 Teacher will lead transition activities into KS1 and contribute to moderation before January 2026 and after January 2026. The Year 1 Teacher will attend planning and induction events in the weeks around January 2026 and will teach from January 2026 as a Full-Time Year 1 Teacher.
Year 1 Teacher Requirements
• QTS (or equivalent) and recent KS1 experience required of the Year 1 Teacher.
• Confident phonics practitioner, reflective planner and strong communicator for the Year 1 Teacher.
• Able to prepare prior to January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and be in class from January 2026 as the Full-Time Year 1 Teacher.
