Part-time Housekeeper in Barnes, London, Job ID J20642
A lovely family based in Barnes, London, is seeking an experienced Housekeeper to help maintain their family home to a high standard.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of housekeeping experience and will speak fluent English. Someone reliable, organised, detail-oriented, and confident managing the upkeep of a busy private household would be ideal for this role.
The housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining a home with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a study, kitchen, and living areas. Duties will include general cleaning, deep cleaning, laundry, ironing, bed changing, dishwashing, rubbish and recycling management, and monitoring household cleaning supplies.
The family has a 2-year-old child, but no regular childcare will be required. Occasional supervision may be needed. Some meal preparation would be a welcome bonus, along with support for grocery purchases, organisation, and stock rotation.
The family also has a small poodle, so someone pet-friendly would be ideal, although no regular pet care will be required.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, between 9:00 and 16:00, around 30 hours per week
Duties include:
- maintaining the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the home
- cleaning 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, the study, kitchen, and living areas
- sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping all floor surfaces
- cleaning carpets, rugs, tiles, and hardwood floors
- dusting and polishing furniture, fixtures, window sills, shelving, and electronics
- deep cleaning and sanitising bathrooms
- cleaning kitchen surfaces, countertops, stovetops, backsplashes, and appliance exteriors
- deep cleaning the oven, microwave, and refrigerator on a regular schedule
- loading, running, and unloading the dishwasher
- hand-washing delicate dishware, pots, and pans
- managing household laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and ironing
- changing bed linens and remaking all beds weekly
- emptying rubbish and recycling bins
- keeping the study tidy without disturbing paperwork
- wiping baseboards, door frames, light switches, and interior windows
- vacuuming upholstery, sofas, and armchairs
- monitoring cleaning supplies and notifying the homeowner when stock is low
- helping with meal preparation, grocery shopping, organisation, and stock rotation when required
The family is looking for someone who can start on 28 July 2026.
