As we grow across the UK and Germany, we're committed to sustainable, innovative, and safe operations. To support this, we’re hiring a Wellbeing, Health & Safety Advisor to support our UK construction and operations teams.
Job Summary
As VIRTUS’ Wellbeing, Health & Safety Advisor in the UK, you’ll partner with construction and facilities teams across multiple sites to uphold and improve WHS standards. You’ll ensure consistent governance, compliance, and best practices—driving performance and continual improvement. Working closely with local teams and leadership, you’ll play a key role in embedding a strong safety culture while growing your expertise within VIRTUS’ wider governance framework.
Role Responsibilities
- Provide pertinent professional advice to others across VIRTUS within a timely manner in order to facilitate informed decision making
- Track WH&S KPIs
- Prepare lessons learned and briefing information
- Facilitate incident investigations, including identification of immediate and root causes and the generation of suitable actions
- Assist with the development and implementation of health & safety programmes including training and competency frameworks
- Assist with establishing and maintaining a suitable framework to ensure legal compliance with regards to health & safety matters
- Seek out relevant best practice outside the business and sector to then bring back and deliver suitable implementation plans
- Undertake regular audits and inspections to determine compliance with VIRTUS, customer and WH&S legislative requirements.
- Organise, facilitate and deliver training as required and ensure training records are maintained.

The Requirements
You will possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- An excellent understanding of Wellbeing, Health and Safety legislation
- A technical understanding of ISO45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems)
- Externally qualified lead auditor for Health and Safety
- At least 2 years demonstrable experience in Health and Safety
- NEBOSH National General Certificate (NGC) holder
- The ability to communicate well with colleagues and customers
- Experience of high hazard industries i.e. utilities, construction, and/or facilities management, datacentres
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence on WHS topics
- Must be available on VIRTUS UK sites full time
- Experience in a client facing WH&S role (preferable)
- Experience of dealing with the Health and Safety Regulator and Local Regulatory Authorities (preferable)
- Understanding of H&S in design and experience with CDM Regulations (preferable).
