Au Pair

We are seeking a caring, reliable, and creative part-time nanny or childminder to support our warm, bright, and delightful 7 year-old child with Down syndrome. This is more than a childcare position--it's an opportunity to build a meaningful connection and play a valuable role in a child's development, emotional well-being, and everyday joy. Your primary duties will include school pick-up, planning fun and engaging activities (indoors and outdoors), supporting homework and basic learning tasks, and fostering confidence and independence through patient and supportive care. The ideal person will bring not only experience but also a loving presence and enthusiasm for working with children who experience the world differently. ? Key Responsibilities * Collecting our child from school * Accompanying and supporting child in extra-curricular activities * Creating a calm, nurturing, and stimulating after-school environment * Planning and facilitating developmentally appropriate play and creative activities * Supporting early literacy skills, such as phonics, sight words, and reading practice * Providing light homework tutoring in a way that is fun, positive, and tailored to our child's learning style * Encouraging speech and communication through storytelling, singing, conversation, and games * Preparing and serving simple snacks or meals as needed * Light household tidying related to the child's activities (e.g., cleaning up after arts and crafts) * Communicating openly and kindly with parents about the child's day ? Essential Qualities and Skills * Experience working with children, ideally with special needs or learning differences * A compassionate, patient, and playful personality * Understanding or willingness to learn about Down syndrome and neurodivergent-friendly approaches * Confidence in supporting early learning (phonics, sight words, simple math) in fun, practical ways * Reliability, good timekeeping, and strong communication skills * Strong references * First aid qualification (or willingness to obtain) * A valid driving licence is a bonus but not essential * Right to work in the Grenada
