An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly driven, enthusiastic and motivated Recruitment Manager to join our recruitment team.

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of centralised nursing recruitment and campaign recruitment for the Trust, in accordance with service level agreements and Trust policies.

The role acts as expert advice to hiring managers and the recruitment team on all aspects of recruitment functions, including Recruitment policy and processes, navigation of all aspects of the People Operations functions, AfC Terms and Conditions of Service, immigration and right to work legislation, resourcing initiatives and campaigns.

The post holder will provide overall professional leadership to, and day to day line management of Band 5 Recruitment Team Leaders. The post holder will also be required to deputise as required for the Recruitment Partner to provide dedicated resourcing expertise and knowledge.

The role will understand divisional requirements, support planning, tracking, measuring activity and shaping campaigns and recruitment strategies for key professional groups. The key measures of success for this role will be vacancy rates, time to hire metrics, and manager and candidate satisfaction of ease of and quality of service.

Main duties of the job

  • To deliver a first class, high quality, customer focused and flexible recruitment service; ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation, best practice, regulations, and Trust procedures.
  • To lead, develop and implement innovative initiatives that will increase the efficiency, compliance and quality of the Recruitment function, including reducing time to hire; continually seeking ways to improve service delivery.
  • To monitor team performance proactively against service level agreements and KPIs to ensure that the recruitment service meets quality, contractual, compliance and other standards, implementing appropriate actions to rectify any breaches.
  • Support a customer-focused commercial service ensuring that systems and processes reflect the needs of service users and are continually adapted in response to changes in service requirements.
  • To lead and support staff and colleagues demonstrating a supportive, positive, motivational and problem-solving approach.
  • To ensure all offers, pre-employment checks and contracts are undertaken and issued in accordance with service level agreements and NHS Employers standards and regulations and Trust policies.
  • To ensure that all relevant information and paperwork for payroll i.e. New Starters, HR Transactional changes, and all pay affecting changes are passed to the external payroll provider by the monthly deadlines.
  • To deliver Trust Recruitment & Selection training to both small and large groups as and when required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Support a customer-focused commercial service ensuring that systems and processes reflect the needs of service users and are continually adapted in response to changes in service requirements.
  • To lead and support staff and colleagues demonstrating a supportive, positive, motivational and problem-solving approach.
  • To advise on all aspects of Trust recruitment policies and processes and NHS Employers employment standards and regulations to staff and managers ensuring that any requests for flexibility or discretion are appropriately considered; ensuring that candidates are recruited promptly, safely and efficiently.
  • To be accountable for the promotion and communication of Trust recruitment policies and processes and NHS Employers employment standards and regulations across the Trust; ensuring fair, transparent, inclusive and consistent, recruitment practice.
  • To address any inaccuracies, anomalies, delays and non-compliance, ensuring that these are resolved and communicated to all concerned e.g. applicants, hiring managers, and People Operations and wider Trust colleagues.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Significant expertise in end-to-end recruitment including recruitment, selection and manager and candidate experience
  • Up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of employment legislation in relation to recruitment and recruitment understanding of how local, regional, and national issues impact on the Trust
  • Significant experience of recruitment and partnership working within complex organisations.
