Salary: £25.00
upto 80% of week on site. Quality control work done on SHP Minor/Major Works projects from inception to completion to ensure that each phase is defect free, meets the required quality standards and contributes to increased Customer Satisfaction.
Comply with relevant procedures and standards across the Minor/Major Works programme and ensure that Providers and Contractors also comply. Report any failure to comply with the Capital Works Surveyors for action.

Key Responsibilities:
● Quality control work done on SHP Minor/Major Works projects from inception to completion to ensure that each phase is defect free, meets the required quality standards and contributes to increased Customer Satisfaction.
● Comply with relevant procedures and standards across the Minor/Major Works programme and ensure that Providers and Contractors also comply. Report any failure to comply with the Capital Works Surveyors for action.
● Understand the scope of the work covered in the Risk Register and monitor compliance.
● Carry out site inspections and draft/complete report(s) on findings.
● Ensure that Contractors take timely corrective action when defects are discovered.
● Work with Capital Works Surveyors and strategic partners to ensure that the Major Works programme is
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
Demonstrable experience of successfully monitoring multiple, major works, social housing refurbishment contracts, inclusive of:
● Experience of working in a technical environment; assisting in delivering high value, high impact construction/engineering projects to time, cost and quality standards
● Experience of working with projects in a way that achieves high levels of customer satisfaction
● Experience of using rigorous site inspection techniques to underpin project delivery
● Experience of achieving and demonstrating Value for Money in project delivery
Qualifications or Proven Experience:
● NVQ or equivalent qualification in construction or engineering.
● Corporate membership of a technically orientated institution – IoCoW or equivalent by experience.
● Knowledge of effective site management techniques
● Excellent communication skills (written and oral); able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
● Computer literate
Expectations
The job holder will:
● Uphold SHPs Values, Behaviours & Leadership expectations at all times (see overleaf)
● Ensure compliance with the provisions of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations and the Building Safety Act Manage contractors to produce robust programme activity schedules and contract expenditure forecasts.
● Build effective team working and collaborative relationships with all stakeholders
● Take responsibility to ensure the health and safety of persons at work and members of the public in premises or sites managed by SHP. The method of achieving this will be by provision of safe systems of work and receiving information, training and instruction as necessary to achieve these objectives.
● Instruct works in accordance with SHP Standing Orders and Financial Regulations.
