Year 2 Teacher | Lambeth
A warm and well-resourced primary school in Lambeth is looking to appoint a motivational Year 2 Teacher to start January 2026. The successful Year 2 Teacher will deliver a sequenced curriculum that consolidates phonics, early reading, writing and number development. The Year 2 Teacher will work closely with phase leaders and teaching assistants, take part in moderation, and support assessment and reporting processes. Induction sessions will be organised prior to January 2026 to support a strong start for the new Year 2 Teacher.

• Year 2 Teacher required to work within a supportive KS1 team in Lambeth
• Year 2 Teacher to lead high-quality practice across Year 2 and support transition into KS2
This Year 2 Teacher role is ideal for a practitioner who enjoys shaping learning through targeted interventions, clear feedback and positive parental engagement. The Lambeth school prides itself on high expectations, strong pastoral care and collaborative staff practice.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver effective, differentiated Year 2 lessons across the curriculum.
- Lead phonics sessions, guided reading and focused maths groups to secure progress.
- Monitor assessment information and use it to plan targeted booster work.
- Work with parents, SENDCo and colleagues to support pupil needs and transitions.
- Take part in whole-school moderation and contribute to phase improvement priorities.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with proven KS1 experience and strong Year 2 classroom practice.
- Confident phonics knowledge, effective assessment skills and the ability to run interventions.
- Excellent communication, organisation and a positive approach to teamwork in Lambeth.
- Ready to take up post in January 2026 and to contribute to the school community.
