Delivery & Operations Director - Retail Fit Out
This is a confidential appointment being managed exclusively by our recruitment consultancy. The Role Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Operations Director will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of projects across the business. This is a strategic and hands–on leadership role, overseeing operational performance, developing high–performing teams and ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably and to the highest quality standards.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the business while driving operational excellence across multiple projects nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operational delivery of retail fit–out and refurbishment projects across the UK.
- Provide leadership and support to Project Managers, Contracts Managers, Site Managers and operational teams.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to exceptional quality standards.
- Drive consistency in project planning, reporting and operational processes.
- Monitor KPIs relating to programme performance, profitability, quality and client satisfaction.
- Work closely with Commercial, Estimating and Pre–Construction teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Develop strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
- Identify and implement operational improvements that support business growth.
- Lead resource planning and operational forecasting.
- Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and industry best practice.
You will have a track record of successfully leading multiple projects and operational teams while maintaining a strong commercial focus and delivering exceptional client outcomes.
