Year 6 Teacher - Putney
We are looking to appoint a confident, motivated, and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive and high-achieving primary school in Putney, starting ASAP. This role is ideal for an experienced upper Key Stage 2 teacher who is passionate about helping pupils reach their full potential in their final year of primary education.
The school has a strong focus on academic excellence, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing. Staff work collaboratively within a positive and professional environment, supported by an experienced senior leadership team.
As a Year 6 Teacher, you will play a key role in preparing pupils for SATs while maintaining a broad, engaging, and balanced curriculum. You will support pupils both academically and emotionally, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and independence as they prepare for secondary school.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum
Prepare pupils for SATs using effective and engaging teaching strategies
Track, assess, and monitor pupil progress accurately
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEN
Promote positive behaviour and high expectations
Create a supportive and well-structured classroom environment
Work closely with teaching assistants and phase leaders
Communicate effectively with parents and carers
Contribute to staff meetings, planning, and school initiatives
Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
Have recent experience teaching upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
Be confident with SATs preparation and assessment
Have strong classroom management and organisational skills
Be a positive team player with excellent communication skills
Be committed to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
Be dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
