Empowering Learning Ltd is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming and supportive specialist school in Camden, London. We are looking for proactive individuals with experience supporting children and young people with special educational needs.

The school provides a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for students with a range of additional needs. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting students both academically and socially, helping them to build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their individual goals.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about SEND education and wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other professionals to create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.

To be successful for this role you must:

  • Bring passion, patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine desire to work within SEND education.
  • Have knowledge and experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
  • Have previous experience working within an education, care, or support setting.
  • Be confident supporting students on a 1:1 basis and within small groups.
  • Have a positive and nurturing approach to supporting students with additional needs.
  • Be committed to helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to students within the classroom.
  • Supporting students with their learning, communication, and development.
  • Helping to promote positive behaviour and maintain a calm, inclusive learning environment.
  • Supervising students both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Encouraging students to develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
  • Supporting teachers with lesson preparation, classroom activities, and resources.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other members of staff to meet individual student needs.
