Accounts Assistant (Fixed Term Contract)
What’s the role about?
We are looking for a reliable and organised Accounts Assistant to join our finance team and support the smooth running of our accounts payable function.
This role will be responsible for processing invoices, managing supplier accounts, and liaising with internal teams and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate payments, helping maintain strong financial controls and positive business relationships.
This role is a fixed-term contract until 26th June 2026.
Who you are
- Confident and professional communicator, able to build positive relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
- Organised with strong attention to detail, managing your own workload to meet deadlines.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and comfortable learning Microsoft Business Central.
- Accurate and diligent, following procedures carefully to deliver error-free work.
- Proactive in chasing invoice approvals and resolving queries with tact and professionalism.
- A team player who enjoys supporting colleagues and contributing to a collaborative environment.
- Eager to develop your skills in finance and accounts payable within a busy, fast-paced setting.
What you’ll be doing
- Processing and coding supplier invoices daily, ensuring accuracy and correct routing for approval.
- Chasing invoice authorisations from managers across the business to maintain timely payments.
- Liaising with suppliers to provide updates on invoice and payment status.
- Posting journals and maintaining purchase ledger accounts, including reconciling supplier statements.
- Setting up and administering new supplier accounts, verifying bank details in line with company procedures.
- Ensuring all accounts payable activities comply with company policies and procedures.
- Supporting general finance and office duties such as distributing post and responding to payment-related queries.
