SEMH Teacher

SEMH Teacher Location: Hackney Salary: £150 - £240 per day (depending on experience) Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm

GSL Education London are seeking a committed SEMH Teacher to work within a special school in Hackney . This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs , many of whom may also have additional learning difficulties.

This will be a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm , and requires a teacher who can provide structure, empathy, and encouragement to help pupils succeed both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs.

Use creative strategies to encourage positive behaviour and learning outcomes.

Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to provide targeted interventions.

Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.

Track progress through regular assessments and adapt teaching to meet individual needs.

Candidate Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

Previous experience teaching students with SEMH or in a special school setting is desirable.

Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.

A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach.

Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service (or willingness to apply).
