KS2 Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a committed and capable Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Brent on a full-time basis from January 2026 until July 2026.

About the role

As a Year 6 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support teaching and learning, with a particular focus on English and Maths. You will provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, helping pupils build confidence, consolidate key skills, and prepare effectively for assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering lessons, particularly in English and Maths

  • Working with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce key learning objectives

  • Assisting with SATs preparation and intervention sessions

  • Helping to maintain a focused and positive classroom environment

  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

  • Adhering to safeguarding and school policies at all times

Requirements

To be considered for the role of KS2 Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in KS2 or Year 6
  • Strong English and Maths skills
  • Ability to support pupils preparing for end-of-key-stage assessments

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Previous teaching experience
