Senior Product Manager, Trading
About InvestEngine
InvestEngine is everything the modern investor should need. Unbeatable value, market-leading automation, and built for easy, long-term investing. We’ve built a strong foundation, have over £2.5 billion invested, award-winning service, and a passionate team, now we’re ready to scale.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Trading team. You’ll own the Trading stream end-to-end, covering trading, settlement, custody, and related operational capabilities, ensuring our roadmap delivers measurable business outcomes while supporting regulatory obligations and operational resilience.
You’ll own the evolution of InvestEngine’s core trading infrastructure, helping shape, build, and scale complex backend systems that power trading, settlement, custody, and operational workflows. This role goes beyond customer-facing product development — you'll be responsible for platform capabilities, third-party integrations, operational processes, and the underlying systems that enable our investment platform to operate reliably and at scale.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong product leadership with deep trading domain expertise, enjoys solving complex operational and regulatory challenges, and has experience building large-scale platform products and backend capabilities from zero to production.
You’ll work closely with Engineering, Operations, Compliance, and third-party providers, and have the autonomy to own prioritisation, discovery, delivery outcomes, and operational health across the Trading stream.
What You’ll Do
Define and own a 3–4 quarter Trading roadmap aligned with company OKRs, customer outcomes, and regulatory requirements
Lead discovery initiatives, evaluate opportunities, and produce clear recommendations supported by data and stakeholder input
Prioritise initiatives across trading, settlement, custody, and operational processes, balancing customer value, risk, operational impact, and engineering effort
Create clear product requirements, acceptance criteria, process flows, and delivery artefacts that enable efficient execution by engineering teams
Drive delivery readiness through well-defined Definition of Ready and Definition of Done standards
Coordinate go/no-go decisions and launch readiness reviews across Compliance, Operations, and Engineering teams
Own third-party and vendor governance, including requirements, controls, documentation, evidence management, and ongoing performance reviews
Define and evolve platform capabilities supporting trading, settlement, custody, and operational workflows
Establish and monitor operational KPIs, including trading breaks, settlement failures, support tickets, and incident trends
Lead post-incident reviews and ensure learnings are translated into product and operational improvements
Build strong stakeholder alignment through clear communication, structured decision-making, and transparent prioritisation processes
Support and mentor analysts, product professionals, and cross-functional team members where required
Ensure all product initiatives maintain appropriate auditability, traceability, and compliance-by-design standards
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of Product Management experience, including ownership of complex fintech, trading, or platform products, with experience building large-scale backend systems and operational capabilities from zero to production
Understanding of the trading lifecycle, settlement processes, custody operations, corporate actions, and associated operational risks
Proven experience defining roadmaps, prioritisation frameworks, and measurable success metrics
Experience working within regulated financial services environments with a strong understanding of governance, controls, audit requirements, and operational resilience
Demonstrated ability to run structured discovery, analyse complex problems, and make data-informed decisions
Experience producing high-quality product documentation, including requirements, acceptance criteria, process maps, and operational readiness artefacts
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and align senior leaders across Product, Engineering, Compliance, Operations, and external partners
Experience managing third-party vendors and technology partners, including SLA and KPI ownership
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate trade-offs across customer value, risk, operational impact, and technical complexity
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Comfortable operating with a high degree of ownership and accountability
English fluency (C1 level and above) — we are a UK-based company, and the role involves regular communication with the team
Nice to Have
Strong systems thinking across multiple internal and third-party components.
Experience working in high-growth start-ups or scale-ups

We’re a lean, fast-moving team that values clarity, ownership, and transparency.
You’ll have the freedom to experiment, the responsibility to follow through, and the backing of a team that values clear thinking and open dialogue. We believe in solving problems at the root, not just treating the symptoms.
What We Offer
Impact from day one
You’ll take on meaningful work from the start, tackling real challenges that drive the stability, efficiency, and growth of our business.
Room to grow
As we scale, you’ll have opportunities to expand your responsibilities, influence how we work, and help shape our long-term direction.

Supportive, high-calibre team
Work alongside talented professionals who are experts in their fields — smart, driven, and generous with their knowledge.
