SEN Teacher | Lewisham | January 2026
Are you a committed and knowledgeable SEN Teacher wanting to join a thriving Lewisham school from January 2026? This role is for a SEN Teacher who will combine hands-on teaching with strategic support to strengthen the school’s provision for pupils with additional needs.
The SEN Teacher will assess needs, deliver evidence-based interventions and support colleagues to put effective adjustments into day-to-day practice. The Lewisham school champions inclusive education and expects the SEN Teacher to contribute to a calm, purposeful learning environment while ensuring statutory duties are met. Induction and collaborative planning will be scheduled before January 2026 to support a smooth start.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver bespoke programmes that target pupils’ specific learning or social-emotional needs.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, using data to drive decisions.
- Work with staff and families to implement personalised support and to coordinate external referrals.
- Support transitions, conduct reviews and maintain accurate, compliant records.
- Provide practical guidance to colleagues to improve classroom access and outcomes.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with experience in SEND teaching or coordination and a record of measurable impact.
- Well-versed in a range of intervention approaches and in working with multi-agency teams.
- Calm, reflective and collaborative, with excellent interpersonal skills suited to Lewisham communities.
- Able to take up post in January 2026 and to be based in Lewisham.
