Year 2 Teacher - Wandsworth
A friendly Wandsworth primary is seeking a committed and energetic Year 2 Teacher to join KS1 on a Full-Time basis from January 2026. The successful Year 2 Teacher will be invited to collaborative planning prior to January 2026, will attend induction in January 2026, and will take up classroom duties from January 2026 as the Year 2 Teacher. We are looking for a reflective practitioner who places high value on pupil progress, early reading and a culture of high expectations. This Year 2 Teacher post offers strong TA support, a clear CPD programme and a friendly, collegial staffroom.

• This Year 2 Teacher will receive structured CPD and mentor support from January 2026.

Year 2 Teacher Responsibilities
The Year 2 Teacher will deliver rigorous systematic phonics, guided reading and sequenced writing as the Year 2 Teacher. The Year 2 Teacher will design practical mathematics sequences that build number sense, run timely interventions as the Year 2 Teacher, and maintain accurate assessment records used in termly moderation. The Year 2 Teacher will plan engaging foundation topics and lead transition activities for pupils moving into Key Stage 2. The Year 2 Teacher will prepare resources before January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026 as the Year 2 Teacher.
Year 2 Teacher Requirements
We seek a Year 2 Teacher with QTS (or equivalent), confident KS1 classroom practice and a proven commitment to inclusive pedagogy. The Year 2 Teacher should be calm, organised and skilled at building positive relationships with parents and colleagues. The Year 2 Teacher must be available for pre-term planning ahead of January 2026, for induction in January 2026, and to start teaching from January 2026 as the Year 2 Teacher.
