School Caretaker | Islington (Secondary)
We are working with a high-achieving academy in Islington to recruit a diligent School Caretaker for a full-time, permanent position. The school is looking for a professional individual who can manage the diverse demands of a modern inner-city campus while ensuring that statutory compliance and safety standards are met to the highest degree.
About the School This is an oversubscribed, "Outstanding" rated academy located in the heart of Islington . The school is housed in a state-of-the-art building with excellent facilities, including a theatre and modern sports hall. It is a fast-paced, professional environment where high standards of cleanliness and maintenance are expected to reflect the school's academic prestige.
The Role This position involves a broad range of responsibilities, from porterage and furniture moving to managing external contractors. The caretaker will be a visible presence on site, assisting with the setup of halls for daily use and evening events. A key part of the role is maintaining the school’s compliance records, including fire alarm testing and water hygiene checks.
Requirements
Knowledge: Up-to-date understanding of health and safety regulations.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with staff, pupils, and visitors.
Compliance: The school is unable to offer visa sponsorship; candidates must have the right to work in the UK. A valid enhanced DBS is required.
