A leading group of independent schools is seeking an exceptional Head of Operations (Cluster) to take on a senior leadership role supporting multiple school sites across the Midlands and East of England based in Richmond.
This is a high-impact, strategic position offering the opportunity to shape both the long-term vision and day-to-day operational excellence of several schools. Working closely with senior leaders, you will ensure that all operational services are efficient, compliant, and aligned with the needs of pupils and staff.
About the Role
You will lead a broad operational portfolio, including:
Estates and facilities management
Health and safety compliance
ICT and administrative services
Catering, cleaning, and support services
Risk management and sustainability initiatives
You will also play a key role in:
Strategic planning and service improvement
Project delivery across multiple sites
Supporting income generation and cost efficiencies
Ensuring consistent standards and best practice across the cluster
About You
We are looking for a commercially aware, strategic leader who can combine big-picture thinking with hands-on delivery. You will bring:
Significant senior leadership experience in operations, estates, or business management
A proven track record of improving operational effectiveness in complex environments
Strong financial and commercial acumen
Expertise in compliance, health & safety, and risk management
Experience leading projects and using data to drive decision-making
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels
A collaborative mindset and a passion for supporting high-quality educational environments are essential.
