Reception Teacher in Dagenham

We are seeking a nurturing, enthusiastic, and committed Reception Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Dagenham , starting as soon as possible . This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Early Years education and enjoys supporting children at the very start of their learning journey.

As a Reception Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality EYFS provision that supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and academic development. You will create a structured yet play-based learning environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and creativity while ensuring all children make strong progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging EYFS lessons aligned with the Early Years Framework

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment

  • Support children’s development across communication, language, literacy, numeracy, and personal development

  • Use observation and assessment to track progress and inform planning

  • Differentiate activities to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and EAL

  • Promote positive behaviour, routines, and independence

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and Early Years staff

  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers through effective communication

  • Maintain accurate records, learning journals, and assessments

  • Contribute to EYFS planning, moderation, and whole-school initiatives

  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Have experience teaching in EYFS, ideally Reception

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the EYFS framework

  • Be nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic about early learning

  • Have excellent classroom organisation and behaviour management skills

  • Be reflective, creative, and adaptable

  • Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
