ViacomCBS
London

WeAreParamount on a mission to unleash the power of content… you in? We’ve got the brands, we’ve got the stars, we’ve got the power to achieve our mission to entertain the planet – now all we’re missing is… YOU! Becoming a part of Paramount means joining a team of passionate people who not only recognize the power of content but also enjoy a touch of fun and uniqueness. Together, we co-create moments that matter – both for our audiences and our employees – and aim to leave a positive mark on culture. Is this the role for you? The Senior Designer is an experienced and creatively driven designer who plays a leading role in delivering the department’s most important and high‑impact campaigns. Motion design sits at the centre of the role, with responsibility for shaping and delivering distinctive, high‑quality creative across on‑air promos, idents, digital advertising, channel branding, franchise branding, on‑screen graphics and presentation. The role also encompasses graphic design for static assets, including key art and VOD materials. Working in close partnership with the Design Director and creative leads, the Senior Designer operates with a high degree of creative autonomy and trust. While the role does not include direct line management, it plays an influential leadership role within the team — helping set creative direction, supporting others through complex projects, and providing continuity and guidance across the department. Alongside the Design Director, the Senior Designer acts as one of two custodians of internal design resources and style guides, and serves as a key point of contact for freelance designers. The role also steps in for the Design Director during periods of leave or absence, helping to ensure the department continues to operate smoothly, collaboratively and creatively. What will you be doing? Lead the creative development and delivery of motion design for the department’s most high‑profile, complex and business‑critical campaigns. Own projects end‑to‑end, from brief through to delivery, ensuring concepts are strong, ideas are clearly expressed, and execution meets the highest creative standards. Establish and maintain a consistently high creative benchmark across all output, ensuring both MTV and Comedy Central brands are represented with confidence, clarity and impact. Act as a senior guardian of brand consistency, with a strong working knowledge of style guides and brand systems, supporting their accurate application across all work. Alongside the Design Director, support the stewardship of internal design resources, tools and style guides, encouraging their effective and responsible use. Provide creative direction and support to freelance designers, including onboarding, access to resources and clear guidance on brand application. Step in for the Design Director when required, supporting day‑to‑day design decisions, prioritisation and creative continuity. Collaborate closely with producers and creative leads to develop coherent and effective graphic solutions that add clear creative value to on‑air and digital content. Keep campaign objectives front of mind, ensuring all work is audience‑aware, on brief and aligned with wider marketing goals. Contribute bold, original and forward‑looking ideas, helping to evolve the brands and keep them relevant within a fast‑moving creative landscape. Stay curious and informed about design, motion, cultural and audience trends, with particular sensitivity to youth‑facing visual language. Explore and champion new technologies, workflows and creative approaches where they add value. Deliver graphic elements to agreed timelines and budgets. Work collaboratively with transmission and post‑production teams to ensure accurate and effective implementation of graphics. Apply strong post‑production knowledge to problem‑solve effectively, particularly within fast‑paced, creatively ambitious environments. Maintain awareness of competitors, the social and digital landscape, and the wider UK streaming market. What are we looking for? Expert working knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator. Strong proficiency in Cinema 4D is a significant advantage. A solid understanding of animation principles. A strong grasp of design fundamentals, including typography and layout. Well‑rounded experience across post‑production techniques and workflows. Experience creating broadcast graphics, or a demonstrably strong motion/design reel. Strong understanding of social and digital platforms and their visual language. Highly organised, with the ability to manage complex projects with autonomy. A confident and considered communicator, comfortable working with senior stakeholders and external collaborators. Highly creative, with a clear passion for design and motion. Self‑led and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership. A collaborative team contributor who leads through example. Able to remain calm, focused and effective under pressure.
