Paraplanner

Octopus Money
Holborn, Greater London

Our team plays a key role in delivering Octopus Money’s mission. We work together to transform the lives of the clients we speak to by helping them plan for their financial future. We care about doing meaningful work, moving quickly and learning as we go.

We’re looking for a Paraplanner to join us. You’ll help us deliver on our advice process, translating client goals into robust, compliant, and actionable financial strategies, and contribute to how we grow and support more people.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with Financial Advisers to ensure our clients receive the highest standard of technical analysis and bespoke reporting. You’ll learn fast, work across the business and see the impact of your work every day.

About Octopus Money

We’re on a mission to become the most recommended financial services business in the UK

Money shapes every part of life. Yet most people never get the support they need:

  • Half of Brits reach retirement age without enough to live the life they want
  • Financial stress is a leading cause of poor mental health
  • Only 8% of people have access to 1-to-1 financial advice

There’s no shortage of information. What people actually need is clarity, guidance and a plan that makes sense for them.

That’s where we come in.

Octopus Money brings together financial planning, investment expertise and smart technology so people can understand their options and take action with confidence. We help people build a clear plan for their savings, investments and pensions and make investing simple with managed portfolios built by experts. We also support employers who want their teams to feel more secure and in control.

Some people need regulated advice. Others need coaching. Many need both at different points in life. Our service adapts to what each person needs.

We believe everyone deserves money support that works for real life.

The role and opportunity

At Octopus Money we help people get control of their money in the way that works best for them - so we deliver both financial coaching and financial advice under one roof. This role is in the advice team but also offers an unparalleled opportunity to apply your skills to solve the advice gap in a whole new way by working alongside a team of financial coaches.

Day to day, the Paraplanner will play a key role in delivering high-quality advice and supporting our advice team to ensure we're providing a world class customer experience. The ideal candidate will be someone who prides themselves on delivering the highest quality of financial advice and is passionate about solving problems.

Day to day you will be:

  • Responsible for delivering high quality financial advice to our customers
  • Undertaking cashflow modelling
  • Working on replacement business analysis
  • Responding to technical client queries

Problem solver at heart with an analytical mindset You should be someone who gets excited by complex problems and can find creative ways to solve them no matter what your level of knowledge and experience with the subject matter. You should be able to digest complexity and develop a plan to move forward, without losing sight of the important details.

Goal driven and not afraid to get stuck in We like to set ambitious goals and find creative ways to hit them, even if that means rolling up our sleeves and doing manual tasks before we’ve managed to fully automate them. You should have a bias towards action and getting things done.

In return for your contribution we offer a salary of £35,000 - £45,000 DOE + benefits
