Quality Lead
The Lead Quality Manager leads and develops Dragados Quality Management System (QMS), striving for best-in-class quality arrangements to deliver to normative and contractual requirements, and support operational excellence. Provide clear leadership and vision and
motivate the team to achieve excellence. Monitor and report on the performance of the QMS
and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
The Lead Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality performance of the
Dragados organisation and for developing, implementing, and monitoring quality strategies
that promote continuous improvement.
To lead and manage the Quality tasks on the Dragados UK Branch and other UK Projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing, implementing, and improving the QMS certified to BS EN ISO 9001 accreditation (or other relevant quality standards) and control the operation of the QMS on UK & Ireland projects
Develop the appropriate quality organisational structure to support the effective implementation, control, and improvement of the QMS. Brief the Senior Leadership Team on the status of the QMS.
Provide leadership, coordination, and coaching of the Quality Team, ensuring they are trained and able to achieve the objectives within their areas of responsibility.
Develop and implement the complete approach to quality management and compliance,
including the processes for identifying and controlling risks, evaluating performance against all quality standards, and ensuring design and construction meet the Employer’s requirements.
Drive the progressive assurance approach to ensure on-time handover of completed works meeting quality standards.
To advise and support the Project Managers/Quality Managers on aspects related to the QMS, particularly in the preparation and application of the Quality Plan for Dragados UK projects.
Developing and delivering quality training, behavioural and performance management focused on quality, and drive a behavioural approach to “Right First Time, Every Time” Quality culture.
Job Description
Develop and implement quality compliance procedures and reporting, which includes managing quality non-conformities, complaints, and developing arrangements for quality- related near-miss reporting.
Ensure the quality arrangements defined for the Subcontractors are understood and risk-based controls are developed and implemented on Subcontracted works.
Share and promote advances in industry best practice for quality, including GIRI, to drive improved project performance.
Lead internal and external quality audits, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement, and cooperate with and support external auditors in system evaluation, including supply chain surveillance.
Evaluate and approve potential suppliers and subcontractors based on their capability to meet our quality requirements.
Conduct the internal Quality audits commissioned by the Environmental and Quality Director.
Maintain strong collaborative relationships with all key stakeholders, including the Client;s Quality Representatives, any 3rd party, and subcontractors, to ensure quality arrangements are understood and effectively implemented.
Submit regular reports from quality perspective to the Environmental and Quality Directorate (Project List, Project NCR and corrective action list, Lessons learned, Objectives follow up, etc.), and collect and maintain quality data for annual Corporate Responsibility report for the ACS Group.
To propose actions to the Dragados UK & Ireland Managing Director to prevent the occurrence of Nonconformities in the projects and branch Office.
Develop and manage the annual quality strategy plan and objectives, oversee its execution to align with broader organizational goals and operational excellence.
Produce information and attend the quarterly and annual management review meetings with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Develop and produce Monthly Quality Performance metric-based reports, which monitor the following performance indicators, some of which are linked to our Quality Targets and Objectives.
Report directly to Dragados UK & Ireland Managing Director and functionally to the Dragados Environmental and Quality Director.

Technical skills and Competencies:
Knowledge of relevant UK quality standards, regulations, and current best practice
guidance (e.g., ISO 9001, relevant sector-specific standards).
Experience in the implementation of quality control processes, including defect
prevention and root cause analysis.
Track record of managing quality assurance and control on large or complex
infrastructure/engineering projects.
Experience in materials quality control, process quality control, and data management for
quality assurance.
Experience in working with project managers, technical specialists, and client
representatives.
Knowledge and practical experience of statutory and contractual quality requirements.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.

Qualifications, Certifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree/MSc (or equivalent) in a relevant quality management, engineering, or
construction-related discipline.
IRCA Certified ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor
Membership to a relevant professional organisation (preferably chartered quality
professional status or working towards).
Previous experience in a similar quality management systems- related role including
responsibility for deploying project or corporate management systems to ISO
9001:20015.
