Multimedia Journalist/Content Creator

We’re looking for a creative and purpose-driven Multimedia Journalist/Content Creator to join our team, helping to make finance and investment engaging, accessible, and relevant for a new generation. This role is all about empowering Gen Z and Millennial audiences to understand financial concepts, plan for their goals, and make smarter investment decisions. You will take complex financial topics and transform them into bite-sized, scroll-stopping content that informs, entertains, and builds trust with younger investors. Working closely with our editorial, video, and design teams, you’ll play a key role in shaping how Citywire speaks to this emerging audience, helping grow our community and expand our impact in financial insights.

What you’ll be doing:

• Creating engaging content for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, including Reels, Shorts, static posts, and explainer videos tailored to a Gen Z and Millennial audience.

• Translating complex financial topics into bite-sized, relatable, and scroll-stopping stories.

• Writing compelling copy, from captions to explainer scripts, aligned with campaigns and seasonal moments.

• Collaborating with journalists, video, and design teams to bring ideas to life and maintain consistency across our platforms.

• Spotting trends early and developing creative content that resonates with younger audiences.

What we’re looking for:

• Content Creation Experience: Experience independently producing content for a consumer-facing brand or title (finance experience is a bonus).

• Social Media Expertise: Knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, with an understanding of platform-specific storytelling and trends.

• Video & Editing Skills: Experience filming and editing short-form videos on platforms like CapCut or Adobe Rush, including producing content directly on a smartphone.

• Copywriting & Storytelling: Strong writing skills, able to craft clear, compelling copy that resonates with Gen Z and Millennial audiences.

• Collaboration & Organisation: A natural collaborator with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Passion for Financial Literacy: Interest in finance, investing, and helping audiences build financial knowledge in an accessible, fun way.
