The Chancery Rosewood is redefining luxury in Mayfair, housed in the former U.S. Embassy and reimagined by Sir David Chipperfield. With 144 suites by Joseph Dirand and a collection of dynamic dining and bar spaces, it’s a place where experiences are curated, conversations flow, and every detail matters.
As Baker within our Pastry and Bakery kitchen, you will play a vital role in delivering the exceptional quality of baked goods that defines the guest experience at The Chancery Rosewood. Working closely with the Head Baker and Pastry Chef, you will bring precision, creativity, and genuine passion to your craft — contributing to a kitchen that reflects Rosewood's Relationship Hospitality philosophy and its commitment to excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all recipes and technical sheets with precision, taking full ownership of your section and ensuring every product that leaves the bakery meets the exceptional quality and presentation standards expected of a five-star property.
- Inspect ingredient deliveries for quality, accuracy, and quantity, and monitor par stock levels — recommending requisitions for approval and ensuring the section is always equipped to perform at its best.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and fully compliant work environment at all times, adhering to HACCP standards and taking ownership of all associated reporting requirements.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all menu allergens in accordance with Natasha's Law, ensuring every product is prepared and handled safely and communicated accurately.
- Support the Head Baker in fostering a productive, collaborative team environment — leading by example, contributing to a positive atmosphere, and actively encouraging constructive feedback.
- Actively promote and support Rosewood Impacts, our commitment to sustainable practices and circular hospitality, embedding responsible thinking into the way you work every day.
About You
- Connection — You contribute warmly to a collaborative kitchen culture, supporting colleagues with kindness and respect and working flexibly to ensure the overall success of the team and the hotel.
- Guest-Centricity — You understand that the quality of your craft directly shapes the guest experience. You take pride in the precision and care behind every bake, knowing that consistency and excellence are never negotiable.
- Influencing — You lead by example on the section, sharing your knowledge of technique, allergens, and best practice with those around you and contributing to a kitchen where standards are understood and consistently upheld.
- Integrity — You follow recipes, processes, and food safety protocols without compromise, taking personal responsibility for a safe, well-ordered section and handling all confidential information with the utmost discretion.
- Drive — You bring focus and thoroughness to every shift, taking full ownership of your section and continuously developing your skills, ingredient knowledge, and understanding of sustainable practices.
- Adaptability — You embrace flexible scheduling and shifting priorities with a calm, productive approach — remaining solution-focused when the demands of service evolve and always striving to maximise the output of the team.
