SEN TA | Newham
A welcoming primary school in Newham is recruiting a reliable and compassionate SEN TA to join the SEND team from January 2026. The successful SEN TA will provide one-to-one support, run small-group programmes, implement strategies from individual plans and help pupils access the curriculum. This SEN TA role in Newham will have an induction and handover ahead of January 2026, with the SEN TA fully in post from January 2026.

Working in Newham, the SEN TA will liaise closely with the SENCo and class teams to adapt resources, deliver evidence-informed interventions and monitor progress. The SEN TA will also support social and emotional development, help with sensory regulation strategies and assist with transitions between lessons and year groups. The Newham school values a practical, patient SEN TA who is organised and committed to inclusive practice.
Responsibilities
- Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions that target identified learning objectives.
- Adapt and prepare resources to enable access to lessons and promote independence.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional and sensory needs through agreed strategies and routines.
- Keep accurate records of intervention outcomes and contribute to review meetings.
- Liaise with parents, teachers and external professionals to support continuity of provision in Newham.
Person specification
- Experience supporting pupils with additional needs in school or specialist settings as a SEN TA.
- Good knowledge of practical strategies for differentiation, behaviour support and small-group delivery.
- Patient, organised and able to communicate with staff and families across Newham.
- Able to start January 2026 and to attend induction and pre-start briefings before January 2026.
