We’re looking for a dynamic, strategic and commercially minded Business Development & Marketing Manager to help grow our agency — building our brand, expanding client relationships and driving new business opportunities.
Role Summary:
As Business Development & Marketing Manager, you’ll play a central role in our growth. This hybrid role combines business development — generating and nurturing leads, building relationships, and pitching new opportunities — with marketing, including brand strategy, thought leadership, campaigns, and content creation.
You’ll contribute to shaping the future of Chemistry We Create by raising our profile, expanding our client base, and supporting the leadership team in driving sustainable, long-term growth. We’re looking for someone who approaches their work with curiosity, initiative, and a collaborative mindset, and who enjoys tackling a varied and evolving set of challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Growth
Identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities across pharma, biotech and MedTech.
Build and manage an effective sales pipeline, including lead generation, prospect development, outreach, and supporting the leadership team in converting opportunities.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key referrers, clients, agencies and partners.
Work closely with our founders to leverage networks and support strategic business growth.
Marketing & Brand Development
Develop and implement an integrated marketing strategy to increase our visibility across healthcare communications and the wider health sector.
Oversee the creation of thought-leadership content, including whitepapers, reports, case studies, blog posts, newsletters and social media.
Manage our online presence, ensuring all messaging is clear, consistent and aligned with our brand.
Plan and deliver marketing campaigns that support both lead generation and brand development.
Monitor and evaluate KPIs (including awareness, engagement and conversion) and refine strategies based on insight and performance.
Collaboration & Internal Coordination
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of medical writers, PR consultants and project leads to align business development and marketing activity.
Support the planning and delivery of networking events, including sourcing suppliers, coordinating logistics and ensuring smooth execution.
Contribute to internal planning, processes and the ongoing improvement of business development and marketing approaches.
About You:
Experience in business development and/or marketing, ideally within an agency or professional services environment
Strong commercial awareness with an interest in driving sustainable growth
Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to create engaging content and presentations
Comfortable working across strategy, planning and execution
Well organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Good understanding of digital marketing channels, including websites, social media, email marketing and analytics
Collaborative approach and comfortable working in a small, agile team, including working remotely
Able to work independently while maintaining accountability and momentum
Desirable:
Experience in healthcare, pharma, biotech or MedTech marketing or communications
Familiarity with medical communications and regulatory environments
Experience using CRM or lead-management tools (e.g. HubSpot, Salesforce)
Experience producing thought-leadership content such as reports, case studies or whitepapers
Ability to build and maintain relationships within healthcare, life sciences or related sectors
