Office Manager - Independent School - Westminster (London)

About the Role
As Office Manager , you will oversee the effective operation of the school office, ensuring systems are efficient, communication is consistent and support for staff, pupils and families is of the highest standard. You will work closely with senior leaders and line manage office staff where appropriate.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing the daily running of the school office and ensuring high standards of service
Coordinating office systems, workflows and priorities to support smooth operations
Line managing and supporting administrative staff, ensuring clear responsibilities and consistency
Acting as a key point of contact for parents, visitors and external agencies
Overseeing communication, correspondence and record keeping with excellent attention to detail
Supporting safeguarding processes, including visitor management and secure record procedures
Assisting with event organisation, meetings and key administrative deadlines
Supporting finance-related administration and ordering processes where required
This role requires strong organisation, discretion, and the confidence to manage a busy workload while maintaining calm professionalism.

Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Significant experience in school administration, office management or a similar leadership role
Excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong communication skills and a professional, welcoming manner
Experience leading or supervising staff (desirable)
Confidence using IT systems, including spreadsheets and database-style systems
Strong understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and professional boundaries
A proactive, solution-focused approach and attention to detail
Independent school experience is welcomed but not essential for candidates with the right experience and professional approach.
