Senior Network Engineer

Opticore IT are currently searching for a Senior Network Engineer who is operating at a CCNP level with strong general routing and switching knowledge with experience delivering a variety of projects to come and join an enterprise financial services client. This opportunity is hybrid, with a HQ in Central London and requires travel initially around the UK for projects.

Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.

What you'll be doing:

• Required to travel for onsite deployments when required.

• Working on multiple projects under the direction of the IT/Network Manager

• Deployment engineer supporting the following: DC exit program required this year (London), SDWAN rollout using Palo Alto Prisma (UK), WiFi refresh (UK), ISE refresh (London)

• Working out of hours and some weekends for deployments

• Have and possess technical capability and experience to undertake tasks to complete the remaining migration tasks

• Create documentation for the remaining migration tasks

• Change planning including discovery, pre-work, implementation, testing, validation and regression activities within Change Management guideline

What you'll bring:

• Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies. Strong CCNP Level capability

• Ability to configure, troubleshoot, and optimise enterprise-grade routing and switching environments

• Good working experience with firewalls – Palo Alto ideally but equivalent with Juniper SRX or Fortinet or Cisco ASA will be considered.

• Basic understanding of WiFi

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively peers. Happy with UK wide travel when required.
