The Finance Officer will play a key role in ensuring the effective management of the school’s finances. This includes maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, managing budgets, monitoring expenditure, and supporting the Senior Leadership Team and School Business Manager with financial planning and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records in line with school and local authority requirements
- Process purchase orders, invoices, and payments efficiently
- Support budget preparation, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Monitor departmental spending and provide up-to-date budget information to staff
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and audit requirements
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts role (school or education sector experience desirable)
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g. FMS, SIMS, or similar) and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy school environment
- A relevant finance or accounting qualification (e.g. AAT) is desirable but not essential
