KS1 Teacher - Twickenham
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and confident Key Stage 1 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Twickenham, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about early primary education and committed to helping pupils build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and social development.

The Role
As a KS1 Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum. You will create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel safe, confident, and motivated to learn. A key part of the role is supporting pupils’ transition from EYFS into Key Stage 1 and ensuring learning is appropriately structured, engaging, and accessible.
You will work closely with teaching assistants, phase leaders, and senior leaders to support pupil progress and wellbeing. Effective communication with parents and carers is essential to ensure strong home–school partnerships and consistent support for pupils.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum
Deliver effective phonics, literacy, numeracy, and foundation subject teaching
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL
Promote positive behaviour, independence, and resilience
Maintain a structured, inclusive, and well-organised classroom
Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and KS1 colleagues
Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives
Ensure safeguarding and child protection policies are followed at all times
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1
Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
Be nurturing, enthusiastic, and adaptable
Show a strong understanding of early primary teaching and learning
Be reflective and committed to professional development
Have a clear commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
