Year 6 Teacher | Southwark
Are you an experienced Year 6 Teacher seeking a role with responsibility and real impact from January 2026? A well-resourced primary school in Southwark is looking to appoint a skilled Year 6 Teacher to lead upper-KS2 learning and support pupils through end-of-key-stage expectations.
The appointed Year 6 Teacher will plan ambitious sequences that consolidate subject knowledge, provide targeted preparation for assessments where relevant, and promote strong attitudes to learning. Southwark’s school supports staff with focused CPD, mentoring and collaborative planning time; the Year 6 Teacher will be part of a highly experienced leadership team and will receive induction ahead of January 2026.
Responsibilities
- Plan and teach effective Year 6 lessons with clear progression and challenge.
- Use assessment intelligently to identify priorities and target support.
- Lead preparation activities and booster sessions to secure outcomes.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure continuity into secondary transfer.
- Maintain strong communication with parents and the wider school community.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with robust experience in upper Key Stage 2 classrooms.
- Proven ability to deliver strong results, manage assessment cycles and lead focused groups.
- Excellent organisational skills, a calm approach and strong interpersonal skills.
- Committed to contributing positively to the school community in Southwark.
- Ready to start in January 2026 and to work in Southwark.
