Senior Manager, Tech Transformation Strategy & Planning

JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Manager, Tech Transformation Strategy & Planning will lead the coordination of Burberry’s Technology Transformation, ensuring alignment of tech demand to strategic business outcomes. The role will manage the overall roadmap, operate the technology demand intake and prioritisation framework, and oversee benefits realisation to ensure that Burberry’s technology investments deliver maximum business value. This position will work in close partnership with the Technology Transformation PfMO, Delivery Leads, and Business Stakeholders to ensure that we are focussing on the right initiatives and that they are delivering value.
This role would also be a great opportunity for someone looking to move from a Manager to a Senior Manager position.
We are open to applicants from either London or Leeds.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Technology Transformation Planning
- Develop, maintain, and communicate the integrated Technology Transformation Roadmap, ensuring alignment with Burberry’s strategic goals.
- Identify, track, and manage cross-initiative interdependencies, resource constraints, risks, and timing conflicts.
- Work with the IT Leadership team to prepare for major governance committees, such as the Quarterly Business Reviews and Capital Committees, providing clear insights demand pipeline, and benefits realisation to support decision-making.
Demand Management & Prioritisation
- Operate and continually improve the Technology Demand Intake and Triage processes, ensuring that new demand is assessed, prioritised, and managed effectively.
- Maintain a transparent, prioritised pipeline of technology initiatives, tracking their progression from intake through to delivery.
- Facilitate Business Demand Forums, enabling alignment of technology priorities with business capacity and strategic drivers.
Benefits Management & Value Realisation
- Oversee the definition and validation of measurable benefits for all technology initiatives, ensuring clear value articulation.
- Track and report on benefits realisation throughout and beyond the delivery lifecycle, providing visibility of value delivered against business case commitments.
- Provide insights on value delivery risks, opportunities, and lessons learned to inform future investment decisions.
Reporting & Insight
- Deliver accurate and insightful Technology Transformation reporting to senior leadership, providing visibility of pipeline health, portfolio performance, and benefits realisation.
- Develop and manage dashboards and reporting tools that support strategic decision-making.
- Identify emerging risks, issues, and opportunities across the portfolio, providing data-driven recommendations.
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
- Build and maintain effective relationships with Business Leaders, Programme Managers, Product Owners, and wider Technology stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted advisor on transformation priorities, demand shaping, and benefits tracking.
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Significant experience in Technology Transformation or Portfolio Management within a global organisation.
- Proven expertise in demand management and capacity planning.
- Experience in delivering target operating model changes.
- Strong understanding of governance frameworks and assurance processes.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior leadership levels.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience of portfolio reporting, metrics, and dashboard development.
- Experience of facilitating prioritisation forums and aligning technology delivery with strategic objectives.
- Familiarity with Programme and Project Management methodologies (MSP, PRINCE2, Agile Delivery).
- Retail, luxury, or consumer-facing industry experience is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and administrative skills with the ability to analyse programme and project data and provide insights to stakeholders.
