Head of Memberships, Electrify

An opportunity to join an exciting, well-funded and fast-growing creator economy business.

Electrify is a dynamic new digital media company that invests in and scales creator-founded brands.

Our mission is to turn creator-founded brands into global media businesses by building teams, scaling the production and distribution of content and introducing new revenue streams. We have raised multiple funding rounds and have invested in a variety of leading channels, including Veritasium, Mentour Pilot, Simple History, Astrum, Fireship, and fern.

We are building a decentralized global team to power our business and are looking for A-players who share our vision and values and want to play a part in driving the business forward on its exciting journey.

Come and build the future of media with us!

About the role

The Head of Community will lead the development and execution of Electrify’s direct-to-audience strategy across memberships, subscription communities, newsletters and owned audience ecosystems.

This role will take primary responsibility for designing, launching and scaling recurring revenue and engagement products across Electrify’s creator portfolio, helping transform passive audiences into active, high-value communities.

A key focus of the role will be serving the “super fans” of our creator brands including fern and Veritasium. The successful candidate will help identify the most engaged audience segments and build free and premium experiences, products, communities and communication systems designed specifically for them. This includes creating ecosystems that deepen loyalty, strengthen creator-to-audience relationships, increase participation and generate meaningful recurring revenue.

The Head of Community will work closely with creators, channel leadership, production teams, partnerships, data and leadership to build world-class membership businesses and audience ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

Membership Strategy & Product Development

  • Design membership propositions across Electrify’s portfolio, with initial focus on fern and then Veritasium.

  • Work directly with creators and production teams to define value proposition and what content, access, and experiences sit within each tier

  • Build business case and long range P&L

  • Lead the end-to-end launch of products from concept through to execution and ongoing operation

  • Develop launch plans, marketing funnels and conversion strategies to drive subscriber growth

  • Establish community standards and operational best practices

  • Build systems for collecting audience feedback and insights

Newsletter & Owned Audience Strategy

  • Lead Electrify’s newsletter strategy across the creator portfolio, outside of the native newsletter brands. This includes VeMail and Astrum and the launch of new newsletters.

  • Work with creators and editorial teams to define newsletter positioning and voice

  • Develop acquisition, conversion and retention strategies for newsletter audiences

  • Oversee segmentation, lifecycle communication and CRM strategy

  • Build monetisation strategies across sponsorships, paid newsletters, affiliate opportunities and premium editorial products

  • Explore paid marketing strategies to scale audiences.

Revenue Ownership & Commercial Accountability

  • Own the P&L performance of Electrify’s membership, newsletter and audience community products across the portfolio

  • Be accountable for the commercial success, growth, profitability and long-term sustainability of recurring revenue products

  • Build and manage revenue forecasts, budgets and financial performance reporting

  • Monitor and optimise key commercial metrics including subscriber growth, churn, ARPU, LTV, CAC, retention and margin performance

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives

  • Comfortable working directly with creators and senior leadership

  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments

  • High attention to detail with strong execution capability
