We are looking for a Head of Business Tools to join our team.
Role summary
The Business Tools team establishes and maintains a wide range of business-process specific support tools. They use the out of the box tools and latest AI solutions to establish customised workflow tools to increase the productivity of the business teams and support high levels of data quality.
As the Head of the Business Tools team you will lead your squads to deeply understand the business objectives and the business processes that deliver them. You will hold the whole picture of all the tools and processes operate a support capability for the existing tools and a change function to implement new capabilities. With your squads you will drive the thinking in how systems can better achieve the business objectives. You will then establish a roadmap of improvements and coordinate your squads to deliver it.
A critical member of your squads will be the AI Agent and you will champion an AI-first approach for delivering the business systems. Youll also look for ways that AI agents can be deployed to automate business processes and ensure that your squads remain focused on this option.

Youll have a passion and service approach for delivering business value and be:
Skilled at uncovering true business needs identifying solution options and presenting proposals delivering business benefits. Confident at presenting ideas and recommendations.
Experienced documenting business processes using a formal approach such as ArchiMate BPMN or UML
Experienced using a broad range of IT system user interfaces and experience developing user interface requirements.
Comfortable in coordinating and facilitating the requirements workshops and negotiating at board level.
Exceptional with communication skills both written and verbal translation of technology to business terms.
Target-driven and focused on owning a roadmap delivery timeline.
A team player able to work collaboratively with and through others.
Self-organising and customer / end-user delivery focused.
An understanding of data governance frameworks and protocols.
An understanding of ITIL processes and standards.

Kaplan is a provider of world-leading professional 2018 we were appointed as the independent assessment organisation for the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) which we then launched in 2021. This exam is now the sole route to qualifying as a Solicitor of England and Wales and will ultimately be taken by upwards of 13000 candidates per year.
