SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join a large and well-established 4-form entry primary school in Ealing on a full-time, long-term basis.

4-Form Entry Primary School
Location: Ealing
Start Date: Just after February half-term
Contract: Until July 2026

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to support pupils with a range of special educational needs. This may include one-to-one support or working with small groups to help pupils access the curriculum, develop independence, and achieve their individual targets. The role requires patience, consistency, and a proactive approach to inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEN

• Supporting the implementation of EHCPs and individual support plans

• Assisting with differentiated learning activities and interventions

• Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development

• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and wider support staff

The school is a large, inclusive, and well-organised four-form entry primary school with a strong focus on high-quality SEN provision, pupil wellbeing, and positive behaviour. The leadership team is experienced and supportive, with clear systems in place to support staff and ensure consistency across the school.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of SEN Teaching Assistant you will:

• A relevant SEN or Teaching Assistant qualification (required) or previous school-based experience supporting pupils with SEN
• A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Commitment to a full-time, long-term role until July 2026

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

• Relevant qualification
• Previous school-based experience
• Enhanced DBS
• Right to work in the UK
