Corporate Governance Officer (Hiring Immediately)
Corporate Governance Officer
London | Full-time | Office-first
About the team
SumUp's Corporate Governance Office is a focused team responsible for maintaining and improving the governance framework across SumUp's global legal entity structure. As SumUp continues to scale, the demands on this team have grown significantly - and this role sits right at the heart of that work. You'll be joining at a pivotal moment, taking real ownership of key governance processes from early on and helping to shape how the team operates as the company evolves.
What you'll do
- Maintain and improve corporate governance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and best practice
- Identify and implement automation solutions for existing manual governance processes, improving efficiency and scalability
- Ensure completeness of entity statutory records and registers across SumUp’s global entity structure
- Manage corporate resolutions and approvals at board and shareholder level, ensuring accuracy and timely execution
- Handle corporate filings and compliance obligations, including annual accounts, confirmation statements, and corporate changes across multiple jurisdictions
- Plan, coordinate, and minute an annual schedule of board meetings globally, including agenda setting, papers, attendance, and follow-up tracking
What we’re looking for
- Experience managing corporate governance or company secretarial processes, ideally across multiple jurisdictions
- Strong knowledge of corporate compliance obligations, including filings, resolutions, and board-level governance
- Ability to work independently in a decentralised environment, coordinating across teams without direct authority
- Comfort working with governance software solutions and an interest in identifying opportunities for process automation
- A highly organised, detail-oriented approach with strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders
Why you should join SumUp
- Opportunity to work with a truly global, multicultural team from our central Covent Garden location, wrapped in historic charm and modern flair. This involves an office-first setup
- Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: be part of a workplace that values and promotes diversity, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone's perspectives are respected and embraced
- Enrolment onto our Virtual Stock Option programme: you will own a stake in SumUp's future success
- Generous time off: enjoy 28 days of paid leave, plus bank holidays and special leaves
- A dedicated annual L&D budget for attending conferences and/or advancing your career through further education
