About the School

This welcoming primary school in Hammersmith is seeking a passionate EYFS Teaching Assistant to join its nurturing early years team. The Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support learning and development in nursery and reception classes

  • Assist in delivering structured and play-based learning activities

  • Support children with SEN, EAL, or other additional learning needs

  • Observe, monitor, and record children’s progress, providing feedback to teachers

  • Encourage independence, curiosity, and confidence in young learners

  • Prepare classroom resources and assist with daily routines

Additionally, you will help facilitate outdoor learning, creative play, and school trips, maintaining a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning environment for all children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting children in whole-class, small-group, and one-to-one activities

  • Delivering play-based and structured learning experiences under teacher guidance

  • Supporting children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development

  • Maintaining classroom routines and organisation

  • Preparing and organising learning resources

  • Monitoring and documenting children’s progress

  • Supporting children with SEN, EAL, or other additional needs

  • Participating in staff meetings, training, and school initiatives

  • Assisting with school events, extracurricular activities, and trips

The Ideal Candidate

The school is seeking an EYFS Teaching Assistant who:

  • Has experience working with children aged 3–5

  • Understands early years pedagogy and child development principles

  • Is patient, nurturing, and empathetic

  • Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Can effectively support children with SEN or EAL
