Head of Content (Live Events)

EC Group
London
We're a live events agency, and so when we talk content, we mean live show content. You'll be leading and scaling our content team, shaping standout storytelling for live, hybrid and virtual experiences while building a brilliant team and driving impact.

Make the extraordinary, everlasting - with us.

At EC, we craft extraordinary experiences that leave a lasting impression - not just for our clients, but for our people too. We blend the big ideas of a creative agency with the meticulous execution of a production company, bringing bold, imaginative events to life.

We’re collaborative, down-to-earth, and serious about delivering quality - all while finding time for lightness and fun. If you’re someone who’s curious, adaptable and excited to do meaningful work with a team that’s got your back, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

As Head of Content, you will lead the next phase of growth for a functioning and ambitious department.

In this context, content means the end-to-end audience narrative and media experience within an event or brand experience - including scripting, motion, film, digital, spatial content, and how these elements are integrated into a physical or hybrid environment before, during and after the event lifecycle.

Working in close partnership with the Executive Creative Director and Content-focused Creative Directors, you will ensure that exceptional creative output is underpinned by strong commercial performance, effective operations and a clear, scalable offering.

You will partner with our Chief Growth Officer to define how content evolves within EC - expanding its reach, sharpening its commercial edge and embedding it more deeply across the business.

This is a head of department role, requiring strength in commercial ownership, operational delivery and people leadership, with the confidence to influence at all levels, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

Strategy & Growth

  • Define EC’s approach to event-led content across the full lifecycle - including pre-event narrative development, live experience delivery, and post-event content extension

  • Identify and develop new revenue streams, including standalone content opportunities

  • Position content as a core part of the EC offer and a differentiator in the market

  • Own departmental financial performance, including revenue growth, profitability and forecasting

  • Contribute to broader business strategy as part of the senior leadership team

Commercial & Client Leadership

  • Lead content conversations with clients, bringing credibility, clarity and commercial focus

  • Advise clients on how to extend the life and value of events through content, including post-event edits, cut-downs and multi-channel reuse

  • Play a key role in business development, shaping proposals, pitches and new opportunities

  • Build strong, trusted relationships at the senior client level

  • Spot and convert opportunities to grow accounts and expand the content offering

  • Balance creative ambition with commercial delivery, ensuring strong outcomes across both

Creative Partnership

  • Partner closely with the Executive Creative Director to deliver best-in-class content

  • Bring a strong understanding of how content is designed for and integrated into live, spatial and immersive experiences

  • Lead the development of audience-first narratives that translate into stage content, film, motion, digital surfaces and interactive moments

  • Ensure content is considered from concept development through to live delivery and post-event reuse

  • Ensure the team is set up to deliver creative excellence consistently and at scale

  • Stay connected to industry trends and innovation, bringing ideas and perspective into the business

Leadership & Capability

  • Lead, develop and grow a multidisciplinary content team

  • Create clarity in structure, roles and progression to support long-term growth

  • Build a high-performing, collaborative and accountable culture

  • Mentor and develop individuals, supporting both performance and potential

  • Build and manage a strong network of freelance and specialist talent

Operational Excellence

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure seamless integration of content into wider project delivery

  • Oversee resourcing, delivery standards and margin performance

  • Ensure governance, compliance and best practice across all content output

  • Implement scalable processes and systems to support growth and efficiency

What you bring:

  • Significant experience leading content for live events , brand experiences or immersive environments (not purely marketing or campaign-led content)

  • A strong commercial mindset, with experience owning budgets, driving revenue and delivering growth

  • Proven experience developing content strategies that translate into physical or hybrid audience experiences

  • Confidence operating at senior level, influencing both clients and internal stakeholders

  • Experience within live events, brand experience or a closely related industry

  • A genuine passion for content and its role in storytelling and audience experience

How you lead:

  • You are a credible, people-first leader who builds trust quickly

  • You think commercially and take ownership for results

  • You bring energy, ambition and a desire to grow a business area

  • You communicate clearly and influence effectively at all levels

  • You develop people and create an environment where teams can thrive

  • You are comfortable operating with autonomy, accountability and pace
