About the role

We therefore looking to recruit an experienced advocate to represent the Council in civil proceedings in the county court and at the First tier and Upper tribunals. The workload will include all aspects of housing litigation (for example, disrepair, anti-social behaviour, homelessness, service charges, injunctions) and closure order applications in the Magistrates' court.

As well as advocacy, you will work closely with our lawyers in preparing cases for court and assist our clients with their decision making. Training clients and colleagues on legal developments will also be a key role of this post.

Solid advocacy experience is essential as is a good knowledge of all aspects of housing law. Having higher rights of audience would be an advantage.

Role Specific Qualifications:

A qualified barrister, solicitor or FILEX Advocate, ideally with Higher Rights of Audience.
